Cherry Hill Dog Park Proposal
Discussions are underway to install a second off leash dog park in Coeur d’Alene at Cherry Hill Park off 15th Street. The proposed site is approximately 3/4 of an acre just north of the tennis courts. The proposed dog park will be fully fenced with an entry bull pen, small dog section, benches, a pet drinking fountain, pet waste cans, and trees and shrubs among other things. Parking, rest rooms and a play ground are already in place at Cherry Hill.
UPDATE
The Cherry Hill Dog Park was opened on October 30, 2011. Come one, come all.
We are very excited about the Cherry Hill site, and are very hopeful that the new park can be completed this year.

This would be so terrific! I am so tired of walking in the downtown area with my friendly lab and being barked at & chased off by other dogs!

Very exciting news! I’m moving to your beautiful city from Las Vegas and we take our dog to the doggie park here all the time and our dog loves it! Great news, we don’t have to break tradition when we come in April!

Any reason crushed granite isn’t being used instead of grass for these parks/runs. I live in NYC and the newer runs we have, the city has been using crushed granite and they hold up much better then our grass runs especially after a good rain (dogs don’t get as muddy). I don’t know if its the price because the last dog run they put in near me cost $500,000+.

For your information, the Cherry Hill Dog Park was opened in October, 2011, and the ground cover is, in fact, crushed granite. Also, the cost for this park came in at approx. $15,000.
